We originally considered a few other tours with larger groups, but quickly realized we didn't want to get stuck in a group of 30 or 60 people. While those tours also offered a small-group option, it was much too expensive. It was just my wife and me on a private tour with Sebastian in his personal SUV. He spoke English very well, was extremely knowledgeable about the history of Mount Etna, and was very patient answering tons of questions about the geology, history, etc. He communicated really well before the trip (we were originally going to go another day, but he suggested we shift because of the weather, and we really appreciated the flexibility). It was lots of fun hiking during the tour, and we appreciated the chance to sample some local products. Having done this private tour option, this is the way to go if you can book it. Unbelievable trip to 3000m Unbelievable experience. Guide very knowledgeable. It was very cold in December. First
part of trip was by 4x4 bus and then we track all the way to 3000m.

Well delivered and very cost effective trip We had an excellent 'sunset' trip up the mountain. Thoroughly recommended if you want a 5-6 hour immersion into local culture and vulcanology. Well delivered and very cost effective trip.

The Etna tour and cave visit (Grotta Cassone) were led by Pierpaolo, who made the day truly special for the three of us. He is extremely knowledgeable and very friendly, and made sure we saw and understood as much as possible.
He was the perfect guide. We learned a lot with him.

We would highly recommend this tour to everyone.
